A rear extension allowed the small original sitting room in this 1930s house to be enlarged to suit a family of 6. An unattractive fireplace was removed and the chimney breast opened up to create a clean-lined hearth which accommodates a wood-burning stove.
Plain white walls, discrete lighting and a new engineered oak floor give the room a comtemporary feel, while the original leaded glass doors to the hall were retained and contribute their distinctive character to the space.
