A fountain commissioned by Glaxo SmithKline and inspired by the snake and staff and of Aesculapius, the Greek god of medicine.

The snake is built up of copper scales on a copper skeleton. It projects water upwards from its nostrils and from its scales, so that the whole body glistens with water.
