Come, explore a home which seems to pop out of the woods, and which coexists harmoniously with lush green grass and verdant trees. It charms with its earthy yet magical saffron hue. And that is the rustic and old world appeal of this home, designed by Aulet & Yaregui Arquitectos, a team of skilled architects in Pilar.

Known as the Loo Mapu, this abode is just as whimsical as its name. It is a stunning union of varied building elements and textures like stone, wood, terracotta, marble and iron. The earthiness of the villa’s facade continues throughout its interiors too. Comfort, understated luxury and a sound aesthetic sense come together in Loo Mapu for an unforgettable visual impact.

A symmetrical saffron façade

The saffron hue of the exteriors of this residence complements the surrounding greenery wonderfully well. The building comprises of two parallel structures which surround a semi-open courtyard, and they enhance the feeling of openness too.

The house is contemporary yet lavishly pastoral, and exudes an authentic countryside vibe. The facade promises a snug, lazy and charmed lifestyle once you enter the premises for a closer look.

The classic approach

The porch and approach to the home is an absolute delight that will remind you of a hunting lodge replete with expansive touches and pretty trimmings. The entrance flaunts a pretty and quaint arch-like design with two long symmetrical structures flanking its sides, making way for a courtyard like feel up front.

Utilitarian canopies add provide shade on hot days, while the greenery envelopes the home in a natural caress.

Experience outdoor delights from the living room

The living room exudes a warm, classical charm with a stone fireplace playing the starring role. The marbled floor features a rug in earthy-hued stripes, making way for the basic earthy theme of the home to pervade this room as well. A large glass window without grills allows an unhindered view of the outdoors, and lets in ample sunlight during the day.

The well manicured grounds come into plain view and offer some scenic beauty. The grey couch with the cosy cushions and throws looks inviting, as the homely touches also come through with the vintage chest and the ethnic looking fabric hanging over the fireplace.

A cottage-style white dining room

The whitewashed walls of the dining room ground the space with a pristine look, while the lightly polished solid wooden dining table and cottage style chairs occupy the centre of attraction. A simple but arty chandelier hangs overhead and here too, an old school fireplace in the corner adds warmth and comfort. Large windows and drapes with subtle patterns produce a charming cottage-like vibe.

Classic touches in the passage

The passage and other corners of the home bring in lots of ethnic, classic touches like the chequered marble floor, the ornate grills on the doors, and the geometrical lamps hanging overhead. The layout of the home also has a classic feel with open arches that square off in the corners.

A sunny backyard

The backyard of the home is a bright space that features a vibrant yet soothing vibe, thanks to the eclectic mix of elements. The wooden beams overhead make for good design values, while the decorative grill and the ornate sconce lamps add to the resort-like Mediterranean look of the property. The corridors outside are lined with chequered marble flooring as well. Greenery is the mainstay of the property with lots of creepers, plants and well manicured lawns surrounding the home. A rich colonial feel is extremely apparent and absolutely in sync with the home’s location.

The home wows with its simplicity and love for light and fresh air. It is warm, inviting and provides adequate visual depth and interest. Every single building material shines and stands out, and yet all of them work together for a seamless effect.
