Vacationing in the south of France is something many of us dream of doing. The idea of gazing at the sunset whilst sipping an aperitif in the ocean breeze would make anyone swoon. Imagine having a seaside home and with it the promise of experiences like this year after year. For most this dream will remain a dream, but that doesn’t mean we can’t indulge in the fantasy from time to time.

Taking a tour of this home in situated right on the ocean shore will allow you to do just that. The design team at Natacha Goudchaux Architecte D’Interieur constructed this spacious beach home with exceptional views. Its exterior is made of timber that resembles dried-out driftwood, which helps it to fit so naturally with its surroundings. Yet its modern contemporary design makes it stand out from the crowd as well. Come with us on this mini-getaway!

Modern and mysterious

The exterior is rather mysterious due to its tinted black windows. Its rectangular structure is clearly different from the neighbouring houses. Still, the washed-out colouring of the wood gives the abode a beachy vibe that makes it a natural fit for the surroundings. What excitement its owners must feel upon arriving for another holiday on the ocean spent at such a stylish home.

Thoughtful design that captures its surroundings

Upon entering the house, we can see just how close it is in proximity to the ocean. The large windows at the front and rear of the home capture the ocean view right from the time its owners walk through the door. From here we can also see the dining area and kitchen that reside just beyond the entrance.

Laid-back beach vibe

The architects blend chicness with laid-back style inside the home as well. The open floor plan is spacious, allowing for excellent air circulation within the living space. The hardwood floor and coffee table echo the aesthetic of the exterior and the eclectic furnishings make the home feel casual and relaxed. The tiled mirror and retro light fixture add a touch of fun and personal flair.

Enjoying the view is essential

If an architect is building a home right on the sea, it is crucial that they incorporate the views into the design. Natacha Goudchaux Architecte D’Interieur certainly doesn’t fall short here. The simple bedroom yields to an elongated balcony that is perfect for peering out at the coastline. Thanks to the large glass doors, the inhabitants can also enjoy the view from bed. What a way to wake up!

Artful design details

This image offers an excellent examination of the way the design team meshes the exterior with the existing colour palette of the oceanic surroundings. The sandy, weathered wood of the home completes the colour swatch of beiges, pale blues, browns and greens. The result is an artful display of the harmony great architecture creates between the natural and the man-made.
