Scandinavian interior design remains an ever popular style; characterised by functionality, minimalism, light and wood, a truly Scandinavian style home will be as attractive and welcoming as it is clean and functional.

Today we’re travelling to St Petersburg, Russia, to tour a stunning Scandinavian style home in which the interior architects have taken the style and made it their own through the home’s unique attributes, and the sheer flair of the design.

 Let’s take a look…

Entering the abode

This superb home hits the ground running as we can’t get further than the doorway without encountering striking features that demand our attention. That Scandinavian functionality is evident from the onset thanks to a coat rack and an area for shoe storage that has been incorporated into the room’s design – constructed from wood no less.

At our feet we find tiles coloured in a three dimensional pattern that exude the creativity and style we find throughout the apartment.

Space to work and wind down

Light beams through the large window to the side of the room, and in conjunction with the light tones of the walls and wooden flooring creates a beautiful bright living space. The room’s neutral tones blend subtly together while the dashes of bright colour from the artwork and chair by the desk imbue the room with vibrancy.

Again we see that Scandinavian functionality at work; on the other side of the clothes storage at the home’s entrance we find a bookshelf adjacent to the desk forming an attractive little study to the side of the living room.

The colourful kitchen

The kitchen conforms to the home’s Scandinavian style, but simultaneously exudes a certain charisma thanks to the injection of contrast and colour that the quirky partition wall and black chairs provide. The graphic pattern covering the wall on the other side of the doorway is also creative and eye-catching, but the colour is subtly enough to blend naturally with the rest of the room.

Magnificent minimalism

The bedroom is awash with wooden tones that blend together to form this majestic minimalist room. On the wall by the bed we find the same graphic pattern we saw in the kitchen, only this time the colours have been inverted; simultaneously unifying and differentiating the different areas of the home.

Beautiful in black and white

Finally we arrive at the bathroom; the mirror has been strategically placed opposite the door, maximising the feeling of space in the room.

The bathroom is stunningly adorned floor to ceiling in white subway tiles, with black, high contrast tiles on the floor below. Inside the shower cubicle the floor and walls are tiled with the same eye-catching three dimensional pattern found at the home’s entrance; tying together the different areas of the home while injecting a little creativity into the design.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our tour of this stunning Scandinavian home, if so, you should take a look this equally spectacular Scandinavian abode.
